Utility Mill Operator Knappen Milling

We have a great temp-hire Utility Worker with a well established local company.   This is a 90 day temp-hire role into a union setting.  Pay will start out at $10.72/hr.  This company offers great benefits once hired in. You must be available to work lots of overtime. Right now they are working up to 12 hour shifts 7 days a week. GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The Utility Employee will pack, palletize and load all products produced, as well as assist in departmental cleaning tasks.  Their duties also include maintenance and repair to equipment not assigned to Maintenance department, housekeeping in and around all departmental areas, grading grain, and other duties as directed by a supervisor including assisting employees in the performance of their regular duties such as moving railcars, wrapping products, etc….

 

Essential Functions-

  1. Comply with State, Federal and Company regulations pertaining to safety, sanitation and

cleanliness and report any problems to supervisor.

  1. Pack and palletize any and all products produced.
  2. Pass 45 day training period.
  3. Operate all existing packing and loading equipment as well as any new equipment that

may be installed.

  1. Obtain and maintain forklift operators permit and have skills and abilities to operate other

Company vehicles.

  1. Load all bulk/bag shipments of wheat, bran, flour and midds as directed.
  2. Perform maintenance and repairs to equipment not assigned to the Maintenance department.
  3. Perform general housekeeping in and around work area.
  4. Assist other employees as directed.
  5. Perform other work at other times as directed by supervisor.
  6. Reports to supervisor assigned.
  7. Clean building structures including doors, walls, windows, ceilings, floors, stairways, and man lifts.
  8. Clean equipment following Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures and safe handling practices.
  9. Clean and sanitize facility office, break room, and locker rooms on a routine basis.
  10. Clean facility grounds including walk-way, driveway, yard, and exterior of building as necessary.
  11. Complete cleaning tasks outlined in Monthly Internal Sanitation Audit as directed by Supervisor.
  12. Use Lock-Out Tag-Out practices as necessary.
  13. Must be able to follow written and oral instructions in English.
  14. Must be able to climb ladders.
  15. Must be able to work at heights.
  16. Must be able to work in closed or narrow spaces.
  17. Must be able to wear all safety equipment.
  18. Vision must be of quality to obtain and maintain a State issued drivers license.
  19. Ability to hear within a normal range, with or without hearing aids.
  20. Communicate and work effectively with other individuals.
  21. Speak, read, write and understand English.
  22. Basic understanding of equipment maintenance and trouble shooting.
  23. Able to assume responsibilities and show good leadership qualities.
  24. Able to logically solve problems as they occur.
  25. Stand, bend, twist, rotate neck, sit, walk, push, pull, crouch, kneel, crawl, climb, balance,

lift, carry and reach.
